I am happy to talk with you about your child at Bollinger Canyon Elementary School anytime. However, out of respect for my students' privacy, I do not discuss student progress when I have other students in the classroom. If you wish to discuss your child's progress, please contact me to schedule a conference.
SEMESTER REPORT CARDS:
During the week of Oct. 11 - 15, 2021 all parent/guardians will be invited to a Goal Setting conference with your child’s teacher. This is an opportunity to better understand the learning needs of your child and set goals for your child’s progress throughout the school year.
You will then receive a report card in January, 2022, that will show your child’s Semester One progress.
In the spring, school sites will be informing their communities about conferences during the spring conference period, March 16, 17, & 18, 2021.
On the last day of school, families will receive the end of the year report card.
Please remember that you are a partner in your child’s education and feel free to reach out to me at any time. I value your partnership and look forward to a great school year.
BIRTHDAYS:
Birthdays are always fun and an exciting time for students. Due to many different types of allergies and making healthier choices, treats are no longer allowed. Some alternate choices might be to donate a book to the class library, visit the dollar section at Target, etc. Please do not hand out birthday invitations at school.

This Weekly Progress Report will indicate if any assignments were late or missing that week. These missed assignments will need to be completed over the weekend and turned in Monday morning. Your child's behavior will also be noted on the Progress Report. THE WEEKLY PROGRESS REPORT MUST BE SIGNED BY A PARENT AND ATTACHED TO ALL PAPERS THAT ARE WRITTEN ON THE BACK OF THE PROGRESS REPORT. THIS IS DUE THE FOLLOWING MONDAY.
The first Progress Report will be sent home on Friday, August 20, 2021.
HOMEWORK:
All homework will be in Schoology. Click here: srvusd.schoology.com
Homework in 4th grade is sent home nightly, Monday through Thursday. Homework typically consists of nightly math, spelling and/or grammar, and science.
Fourth graders are also expected to read 20 minutes per night in a book of their choosing. Research has shown that daily independent reading is one of the most important factors in predicting student success in school. Please encourage your child to read daily, and ask questions about what he/she is reading!
Homework or projects will never be given over the weekend or over breaks unless not completed when assigned.
